Cr isotope composition of components of non-carbonaceous chondrites
Abstract:
This dataset contains Cr isotope composition, Fe/Cr and Mn/Cr ratios of terrestrial standards, leachates, mineral separates and whole-rock of non-carbonaceous chondrites. The ordinary chondrite NWA 8007 (L3.2) and the enstatite chondrites Sahara 97158 (EH3) and PCA 91020 (EL3) were subjected to a leaching procedure (or sequential dissolution). Data has been acquired at Laboratoire Magmas et Volcans of Université Clermont Auvergne in Clermont-Ferrand, France. Nd and Sm isotope compositions are already available on these samples (Frossard et al., 2022; https://doi.org/10.1126/science.abq7351). The purpose of this dataset is to evaluate the variability of the Cr isotope composition in chondrites and its relation to redox conditions and thermal metamorphism.
